Map of example flight times in Asia-Pacific region

What countries does Jetcity’s Air Operators Certificate cover?
We can and do operate worldwide.

Will the patient require a visa for entry into Australia?
Yes, unless the patient is an Australian or from New Zealand.

If the patient requires a visa for entry into Australia, can Jetcity provide assistance in this matter?
Yes, we have contacts in Canberra who can arrange to issue the necessary clearances provided the patient has a valid passport.

Could this be arranged late on a Saturday night?
Yes, Jetcity’s contacts are available 24 hours a day all year round.

Can Jetcity arrange a visa for the patient for other countries?
Yes, as long as the patient has a valid passport.

Can Jetcity supply a medical team?
Yes, we can provide Doctors, Nurse’s and Paramedics.

Can Jetcity accommodate young children?
Our medical teams are equipped with the latest neo-natal equipment and expertise to handle new born babies and young children. Our Learjets can accommodate all equipment that is required for this type of mission.

How long can the crew operate for?
With two pilots we can operate for a total of 12 duty hours which can be extended to 14 hours under certain conditions. With three pilots we can operate for a total of 16 duty hours which can be extended to 18 hours under certain conditions.

Do the crew require a rest break on a long trip?
Normally the aircraft will position to the place where the patient is located, the crew will then rest before starting the mission.
Once the patient has been retrieved they will not stop for crew rest until they arrive at the destination. If rest is required for the crew, then a replacement crew will be available to ensure that the aircraft can continue to its destination.

How much notice does Jetcity need?
Jetcity only needs the initial phone call to get the process started. Between the initial phone call and the flight being confirmed, we start looking at flight planning, aircraft preparation, medical team preparation, visa requirements.

If the initial call is also confirmation to go and retrieve patient, how long will it take for the Learjet to be airborne?
This will depend on the requirements of the patient.

If the patient requires to be rescued and be flown to a place of more suitable care we can be airborne in 1 hour.

If the patient requires the Learjet to transfer them from one country to another and the distances are such that we require multiple crews (pilots, medical teams) say a distance of New Zealand to Europe, then we would need approximately 2 to 4 days to place crews strategically around the globe so the aircraft doesn’t stop for crew rest and only stops for crew change, then continues on to its destination.

Can the Learjet provide a sea level cabin for cases of the Bends or head trauma?
Yes, the Learjet is fully pressurized and can fly at 25,000 feet with the cabin pressure equivalent to sea level pressure.

Does the aircraft have a toilet?
Yes

Does the aircraft have seating for extra passengers say a family member or friend of the patient?
Yes, we can provide seating for one extra passenger, but the final decision to carry this person will be with the medical team.

How much baggage can an accompanying family member take?
Baggage is not the priority; their baggage must be kept to a minimum, one small overnight bag only.

How may I pay for Jetcity’s services?
We require payment to be made, or other arrangements made, prior to departure. Electronic transfer, credit card or letters of guarantee are all acceptable.
